Being an entrepreneur is freaking amazing, right? Let’s be real though, it can be friggin’ hard, too. We can go through ups and downs of the mental rollercoaster as we navigate perceived setbacks and pitfalls. The success of a business is largely dependent on how resilient you are in responding to challenges. Creating a mindset shift is a crucial building block to get you out of the woods when you start feeling thoughts of scarcity creepin’ in.

That’s why it’s so important to keep an abundance mindset all the time (and especially in the more challenging ones.) I wholeheartedly believe that your business is a direct reflection of you and your energy. The energy you put out into the Universe is reflected back to you. It’s the Law of Attraction. You will attract situations and opportunities that are similar to the vibe you are putting out, and your thoughts and emotions make up a large part of your vibe.

If you want to gauge how your abundance mindset is working, then take a moment and survey your biz’s health. If you don’t like the answer, then it’s time to do the inner work to re-frame your thoughts so you can lead the way for your business and team.

Here are three mindset shifts to let your abundance flow in.

Mindset Shift #1

Understand that time off from your business is just as valuable as time working in your business

You might be thinking, “WTF” right now because taking time off from your business seems super counterintuitive to making money. It’s probably the last thing you want to do if you are overwhelmed and panicky about money flowing in.

My advice is that this is THE BEST THING you can do for yourself and your business especially in the really challenging times. I’m not talking about running away and ducking your head under the sand so you can forget the world.

I’m talking about taking time away from your business to see the bigger perspective of your vision and getting your head screwed on straight again.

It’s called self-care and it’s gonna look different to each person because we respond differently to ways to clear the mind.

Whether it’s a spa day; Reiki session; walking or hiking; a Day-cation where you aren’t thinking about your business; or breathwork…

…you need to renew your energy. You will be in no freaking shape to run a business if you are drained, tired, and downright resentful towards doing more work.

I know this might be a big energy shift for some of you as you break away from the old adage of “Work Hard.”

Um, hell yes you work hard! Do you think you can sustain that work ethic without resting?

If you never sleep, do you think you would function at the level 10 version of you?

Of course the answer is no.

Schedule some time on your calendar for “you time.”

If you want to receive abundance, you’ve got to actually make room to receive. Money is energy. If you are expending your energy all the time by being busy, then how do you expect to receive money? You can’t.

Take time out to do something that doesn’t feel like work or that you are giving more of your energy. Choose any activity that brings you joy.

Mindset Shift #2

Tell yourself how freaking abundant you are and own it!

What you tell yourself every day literally shapes your perspective of the world and your business. If you are telling yourself “I don’t have the money. I hate having to deal with this. I never have the time.” Guess what you are continuing to reinforce in your consciousness and mindset?

You are reinforcing that you never have time, you don’t have the money, and you hate aspects of your business.

Ummmm….NO! That’s not gonna get you to 6 or 7 figures.

Here’s how to make this mindset shift:

  1. Pay attention to your inner dialogue for a few days and write down what thoughts pop up for you.

  2. Once you are aware of any negative thoughts and habits that are in your psyche, start reshaping them into their positive counterparts. For example: If you say, “I don’t have time for this.” Flip the switch and start saying, “I choose to invest my time wisely.” This is your new affirmation.

  3. Start saying the positive counterpart every day and especially if you catch yourself saying your negative belief. Immediately counteract any negative dialogue with your new positive affirmation.

  4. Feel the emotion that comes up when you say your new positive affirmation.

  5. Give yourself permission to experience it and accept it as your new reality.

When we truly believe something, we integrate it into all aspects of our lives.

For example: When we feel confident, we demonstrate that confidence in the way we walk, how we communicate with ourselves and others, and the emotions we feel. When you start changing your inner dialogue, it might feel weird at first (as we feel with any new habit.) However, the more you allow it into your mind and make it a normal part of your routine, you will start to see it reflected back to you in your external world, too.

By removing limiting beliefs and affirming your abundance of time, money, and energy, you create a new dynamic in your business and life. Here are a few affirmations you can snag and make your own:

“I have an abundance of positive energy.”

“I choose to spend my time wisely.”

“I receive financial abundance.”

Mindset Shift #3

Remain open to ways abundance comes to you instead of being too focused on the outcome.

Planning for abundance is fantastic, but when we get too attached to the exact way it will come in, we lose our ability to pivot. Naturally, businesses shift and change and we need to be open to the ways in which we may need to redirect our focus.

Business owners tend to get too settled on strategies that have worked for them in past years. While strategies can be amazing, if you aren’t open to new ways of connecting with your customers, then you are limiting your abundance.

Energetically, this means you aren’t listening to your Intuition. When we use too much logic, energy isn’t flowing. Think of your energy and Intuition like water. It needs to flow in order to prevent it from becoming stagnant.

When we focus too much on the expectation of how a certain strategy will bring in money, we often bottleneck the energy and financial results.

You can’t receive an abundance of money or energy if you are pigeonholing how it comes in.

It’s important to remain open in order to receive big energy. You need a wider vision and make room for it in your business and your life.

Here’s a quick visualization you can do when you are feeling stuck:

1. Visualize yourself standing on a mountain and allowing yourself to receive all the abundance coming to you. You aren’t blocking yourself because you are atop of this mountain, putting yourself out there, for all to see.

2. Extend your arms and say, “I receive and embrace my abundant self.”

Do this visualization anytime you feel yourself needing to expand.

Integrate these mindset shifts on a daily basis and remember that having an abundant mindset is the most important component of having a successful business. You are the leader and it starts with you. You’ve got to have big energy and mindset to hold space for your business growth.
