It’s important to make sure your students feel supported. In Teachable you can do this by creating Google Forms, surveys, and other tools to get feedback from your students.

You can also use Zapier to integrate tools like Zendesk, which would give you even more functions.

You can send targeted emails based on a variety of criteria. For example, you can send a welcome email when a student enrols in your course. Or, maybe you can send a discount code for those customers who haven't purchased from you in a long time.

Teachable Vs Competitors

There are many companies in the online course space. You might have decided that Teachable is the right fit for you already. However, just in case you need more information, let's compare Teachable with a couple of it’s top competitors.

Teachable vs Kajabi

Kajabi is an all-in-one platform that makes it easy to create online courses, launch marketing campaigns, build landing pages, and design the perfect website’.

When comparing Kajabi to Teachable, it's important to remember Kajabi includes many features people might be paying other companies for. Kajabi’s plans starts at $149 a month (for 3 products), but this does include landing pages, membership site, course site, email marketing etc. Both Teachable and Kajabi both integrate with PayPal and Stripe. Teachable has the always-free starter plan and Kajabi offers a 14-day free trial.

Kajabi is a great option for businesses that are established and bringing in decent revenue. However, if you're at an earlier stage in your business, it might be a better option to decide on the features you need and get the solutions separately. Kajabi is an all-in-one platform and Teachable focuses on creating and selling online courses.

Teachable vs Thinkific

These platforms are quite similar. Both offer landing pages, email marketing, shopping cart, payment gateways, etc. and they both also have great customer support.

They both have a free plan. Thinkific (even the free plan) don’t charge any transaction fees. Whereas,  Teachable’s free plan takes 10% plus $1 of each course sale, which is quite steep.

Thinkific offer immediate payouts, while Teachable pays once a month.

Thinkific is focused on the student and teacher experience. Teachable focuses more on course marketing tools.

The takeaway:

Thinkific is marginally better in usability and design aspects. Teachable triumphs over Thinkific in marketing capabilities and simplifying some technical aspects, like taxes and affiliates.

Teachable Review: Pricing

Teachable offers a free plan, so you're able to test out the platform before you commit. There's also a free trial if you'd rather give one of the more advanced plans a try, before committing.

They offer 3 other plans;

  • $39/month – Basic plan for unlimited courses, video, and students with 5% additional transaction fees, monthly payouts, and 2 authors.
  • $99/month – Professional plan for no transactions, instant payouts, 5 authors, graded quizzes, and advanced customization without Teachable branding.
  • $499/month – High Volume plan for Professional plan features with 100 admin level users, manual student imports, and bulk student enrolments.

$29, $79, $399/month, respectively, with an annual plan.

Teachable Review Summary: Is Teachable Worth It?

Online course creators who sell to customers in the EU are required to charge VAT on their courses. This can be difficult to record and then pay. One major benefit of Teachable is that it takes care of this by building VAT into their pricing and then paying it on your behalf.

Teachable is a learning management system that’s purpose-built for educators and it has great sales and marketing features, which will help you get your course in front of thee right people.

We believe Teachable is a great choice for bloggers, YouTubers, authors, publishers and other experts.
